Economy and infrastructure

In the town itself are few jobs available ( eg in a holding for agricultural products, a transportation and Schotterei operation, a carpentry shop, a plumbing firm and a carpentry business ), so that the majority of the working population is forced to oscillate either in neighboring municipalities or Vienna. Many residents are, however, at least in part-time, working as farmers, with the disproportionately large proportion of organic farmers is worth mentioning here.

The infrastructure corresponds to the standard of a community of this size. Thus, there exist a kindergarten and a primary school (both bilingual), a music school, a grocery store, two inns, a number of wine taverns and a bank. The post office had to be closed as part of cost-cutting measures, a post partners took over their tasks.

In 2004, in Pama, as in many neighboring communities ( previously partly ) built wind turbines.

Due to the exposed location on the eastern border of Schengen was in Pama an army - Zugsgefechtstand for assistance operation border surveillance to monitor the borders.
