Pamela Faber

Pamela Faber Benítez ( born 1950, USA) is an American- Spanish linguist and translation scholar.

Life

From 1967 to 1971 Faber Benítez studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapell Hill, USA, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. Between 1973 and 1978 she completed another degree in English Language and Literature in Granada, Spain. In 1980 she went to Paris at the Sorbonne (Paris IV) and graduated in 1982 with a postgraduate linguistics studies diploma. She then returned to teaching at the University of Granada, where she received in 1986 her PhD in English Language and Literature. Since 2001 she has worked as a full professor in the Department of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Granada.

Faber Benítez has made mainly through their contribution to the functional- lexematic model in the field of lexicography as well as through the development of their concept of Frame -Based Terminology a name.
