The Pampeloponnisiako Stadium (Greek Παμπελοποννησιακό, total Peloponnesian stadium), formerly National Stadium Patras, with a capacity of 23,588 spectators, the largest sports facility in Patras, and around the Peloponnese. The stadium is located in the southern district of Patras.

History

Was built the stadium in 1981. Due to the Olympic football tournaments in the 2004 Summer Olympics modernization and expansion measures have been adopted. The € 30 million expensive reconstruction included the expansion of the western grandstand, a roof over the grandstand, the installation of new seats, upgrading the interiors, a new floodlight system and other upgrades at the stadium technology. The official handover of the stadium was on 28 March 2004 in the Cup final of the regional amateur league.

During the Olympics, the stadium was the venue for a total of six games of the men ( five group matches and a quarter -final ). Apart from two preliminary round matches, one preliminary round and the quarterfinal match of the German Women's National Team took place at the women's tournament.

The stadium is owned by a suitable tartan track and thus for athletics competitions. 2005 Pampeloponnisiako the final was played at the Greek Club Cup.

Architecture

The stadium is in the grandstand and in the transitions to the Hintertorkurven in possession of a high rank. When designing a possible further expansion of the stadium was considered. In a future establishment of a top rank in the opposite stand, the stadium capacity would increase by a further 6,500 places.

Current use

Currently, the football club Panachaiki Patras plays (2nd Greek League ) in Pampeloponnisiako Stadium.
