Panagiotis Markouizos

Panagiotis Markouizos (Greek Παναγιώτης Μαρκουίζος, born August 13, 1980 in Athens ) is a Greek figure skaters. He was several times Greek champions. His best result at ISU Championships was the 33rd place at the European Figure Skating Championships in 2001.

Markouizos began in 1988 with the figure skating and so followed his sister, who some years practiced this sport. Shortly after he reached between 1995 and 1999 several placements in midfield in international youth competitions. Between 1998 and 2003 he reached a total of six Greek league titles and took with it several times in European Figure Skating Championships and World Figure Skating Championships in part, in which he never failed to qualify even for the short program itself. Since 2004 he has participated in more no competitions.

Panagiotis Markouizos is currently the only Greek figure skater who has shown a triple toe loop jump and a triple Salchow jump. Among all the Greek runners, he is also the one with the highest number of participations in international competitions.

Since the completion of his coaching training in Canada Markouizos worked as a figure skating coach and teacher in Athens. He trained there several participants of the World Figure Skating Championships 2008 in Gothenburg and the World Figure Skating Championships 2009 in Los Angeles.
