Panamerican Championship 1956
The second Pan American Football Championship was held in Mexico City from February 26 to March 18, 1956.
Brazil that won the tournament, was represented by a selection of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and therefore consisted entirely of players of SC Internacional and Grêmio Porto Alegre. On the second day, Brazil and Peru were compared. Brazil led 1-0, but the Peruvians dominated in the second half. The Brazilian masseur Moura was after a treatment yet, when a Peruvian dangerously approached the Brazilian goal on the field. Moura threw the onrushing Félix Castilho be Behandlungsköfferchen from the goal line from the legs. This fell by then. Then there were some ugly scenes with punches and the like. When play was stopped Moura was dismissed. After that, the Peruvians had lost their momentum and the result stood.
