Pancras of Rome

St Pancras (c. 290 in Phrygia; † around 304 in Rome) is a Roman martyr of the early Christian Church. The name comes from the Greek and means the all -conquering.

Life

He was the son of a wealthy Phrygiers from the area of ​​Synnada and was taken according to the legend as a fourteen year old orphan with his uncle to Rome. There he was soon beheaded in the reign of Diocletian, or the Emperor Valerian because of his faith.
