Pandora (singer)

Pandora ( born June 20, 1970 as Anneli Magnusson in Västerås, Sweden) is a Swedish singer. Their music contains elements of at that time widespread Euro Dance.

Life

Magnusson grew up in a small town in Central Sweden and collected in childhood experience with the guitar. As a teenager, she appeared frequently in their place of residence to a nearby café. They drew inspiration from Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. During her studies in Vasteras, near Stockholm, she met three music producers who were looking for a female voice for a scheduled dance act. In the fall of 1993 Magnusson signed the record deal and began from then on her career as Pandora. The debut single, Trust Me, was released the same year and received gold status in Sweden. The accompanying album One Of A Kind achieved except in Sweden and in Finland high sales figures. Pandora promoted by Ace of Base 's most successful dance act Scandinavia. In the same year followed as cooperation with the Swedish dance act melody MC the Single Up North.

In 1995, the album Tell The World including the eponymous single, which in Japan was a success except in Scandinavia followed. The 1997 follow-up album Changes was released worldwide. In the same year she went on tour in Scandinavia and Japan. 1998 Pandora sang the song to the Winter Olympics Spirit To Win, was followed by a best-of album. This was followed by more singles and albums, which were very successful in Japan and Australia. In 2004 she took part in a qualifying round for the Euro Vision Song Contest, but was not selected as a final candidate.
