Pannexin

Pannexine are members of a family of proteins in animals, which are used at different locations of the detected human body, and with the family of connexins. Are structural proteins, which are composed of several hundred amino acid building blocks. Pannexine form in erythrocyte ATP channels are involved in the secretion of interleukin -1 in the brain and form gap junctions. A role in carcinogenesis is discussed.
