Paola Fantato

Paola Fantato (* September 13 1959 in Zevio, Verona Province) is an Italian archer and Paralympics winner.

At the age of eight years was diagnosed with polio Fantato, since this time it has to rely on a wheelchair. In the 1980s she began to train archery and was soon successful in respective competitions. In the Summer Paralympics in Seoul in 1988, she won a bronze medal and four years later, she finally won gold. In 1996 she took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta as a member of the Italian Olympic team.

Between 1988 and 2004 Fantato won a total of five gold, one silver and two bronze.
