Paolo Flores d'Arcais

Paolo Flores d' Arcais ( born July 11, 1944 in Cervignano del Friuli ) is an Italian philosopher and journalist, editor of the magazine Micromega. He also writes in newspapers such as El Pais, La Repubblica, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Gazeta Wyborcza and is regarded as "one of the most important theorists of the current Italian Left ".

Life

Paolo Flores d' Arcais received his doctorate with a thesis on Adam Smith and Karl Marx on the philosophical faculty of the University La Sapienza in Rome. There he is still teaching and searching active.

His greatest inspiration for his writings are Albert Camus and Hannah Arendt.

He was a major figure in the civil rights movement Girotondi in 2002, which was created in opposition to Berlusconi's Justice Act.
