Paperclay

Paperclay (sometimes translated called paper shade ) is a mixture of clay, (used for papermaking like him) and water paper pulp.

The mixing ratio may be up to 40 volume percent and 60 volume percent clay slurry paper pulp. To edit the Papiertonbrei on plasterboard is dried until a modellierfähige mass. The proportion of clay in this mixture is therefore always higher than the proportion of paper, so it can burn shaped objects in a ceramic oven, without losing their strength when burning the paper shares.

Paperclay, in contrast to the "normal " sound unusual properties: It shaped items can still edit in almost all stages of drying or even start from scratch on the molded article. The wall thickness of the modeled forms can be relatively thin thickness of up to several centimeters.

In the firing process, the paper fibers burn under strong odor and there are microscopic cavities which make the finished piece firing easier ( to the proportion of paper ), but still very stable ( like those of corals).
