Paracanthopterygii

Cod (Gadus morhua )

The Paracanthopterygii ( Greenwood, Rosen, Weitzman & Myers, 1966;. . Paracanthomorphacea in Betancur -R et al, 2013) are a group of genuine bony fish ( Teleostei ). Most species are marine predators.

System

Formerly the Paracanthopterygii assigned orders frog Fishy ( Batrachoidiformes ) Armflosser ( Lophiiformes ), and the viscera Fishy ( Ophidiiformes ) are assigned to the Percomorphaceae today. The cod -like ( gadiformes ) should ( according to the latest research, together with Stylephorus chordatus ) be the sister group of Peter Fishy ( Zeiformes ).

Nevertheless, the group is still listed in the absence of a generally accepted alternative in zoological systematics textbooks and Joseph S. Nelson's standard work on fish systematics Fishes of the World in their traditional scope. After Nelson include approximately 1340 extant species, about 270 genera, 36 families in five orders to the Paracanthopterygii:

  • Perch Lachsartige ( Percopsiformes )
  • Sphenocephaliformes †
  • Cods ( gadiformes )
  • Viscera Fishy ( Ophidiiformes )
  • Frog Fishy ( Batrachoidiformes )
  • Armflosser ( Lophiiformes )

Contrast, following cladogram shows the current classification by Betancur -R. et al. (2013 ) again:

Tiefseequappenartige ( Ateleopodiformes )

Eidechsenfisch Related ( Aulopiformes )

Lantern Fishy ( Myctophiformes )

Gloss Fishy ( Lampridacea )

Perch Lachsartige ( Percopsaria )

Dories ( Zeariae )

Stylephorus chordatus ( Stylephoriformes )

Cods ( gadiformes )

Bart Fishy ( Polymixiacea )

Mucus -like head ( Beryciformes )

Soldiers and hussars fish ( Holocentriformes )

Related perch ( Percomorphaceae )
