Pascal Lavanchy

Pascal Lavanchy ( born July 20, 1968 in Thonon -les- Bains, Rhone- Alpes ) is a former French figure skater who started ice dancing.

His Eistanzpartnerin was Sophie Moniotte. At her side, he won the Silver Medal and 1997 the bronze medal at the European Championships in 1995. The greatest success of Lavanchy and Moniotte however, was the runner-up World Championship title in 1994 in Chiba, as they had to admit defeat to the Russians Oksana and Yevgeny Platov Grishchuk. At the World Cup the following year they won the bronze medal. Lavanchy and Moniotte participated in three Olympic Games. 1992 in Albertville they were ninth, 1994 in Lillehammer, they reached fifth place in 1998 in Nagano, it was enough even for eleventh place.
