Paschal Donohoe

Paschal Donohoe (born 19 September 1974) is an Irish politician (Fine Gael ) and since February 2011 a deputy in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament. Following the resignation of Lucinda Creighton as Irish Minister for European Affairs Paschal Donohoe was appointed as her on July 12, her successor.

Donohoe visited the St Declan's Christian Brothers School in Cabra and studied at Trinity College in Dublin. After finishing his studies, he worked in the United Kingdom and Ireland as Sales & Marketing Director for a multinational company. In 2006 he gave up this position to prepare for his candidacy in the 2007 elections to the 30th Dáil Éireann. He was building up for the Fine Gael in the Dublin Central constituency, but could not win a mandate. Instead, Donohoe was elected to the Seanad Éireann and consequently put his mandate as a member of the Dublin City Council down, which he had practiced since 2004.
