Passauer Eisenbahnfreunde

The Passau railway friends are a established in 1978 in Passau registered association, which has made it its mission to preserve and use historic railway vehicles operational. The club had about 190 members in 2007.

Over the years the club ran a rain special trains on branch lines in the area around Passau. Due to the flood of the century in 2002, the two routes Ilztalbahn ( Passau Freyung ) and the Passau - Hauzenberg was severely damaged and consequently locked, whereby the activity of the club was clearly limited. Since 16 July 2011, the Ilztalbahn is back in service.

Also, some routes such as Hengersberg - Kalteneck and Vilshofen - Aidenbachstraße have now been removed, so that only still standing forest path at the junction to Hengersberg, the route Vilshofen - Blindham and Rottalbahn for special trips within Passau available. Hall II is located at the other end of the site and forms with two tracks with a length of around 100 meters, the possibility to park coaches. Locomotives

Steam locomotive 64 344

Since November 2009, the steam locomotive 64 344 is at the PEF. The locomotive has a top speed of 90 Km / h and a power output of 950 hp. In December 2006, a Köf III ( 332052-0 ) from the depot Regensburg was purchased to relieve the V 40. F- train

Blue painted cars of the genera Aüe 310 ABüe 333, 366 and Büe ARmz 216 form an express train set in the 1950s.
