Passion Fruit (band)

Passion Fruit was a German -Spanish- Dutch pop group. The group is best known for songs such as The Rigga Ding Dong Song or Wonderland. The group was founded in collaboration with her producer team Flensburg Elephant Music, who are also the composers of the songs of Passion Fruit.

On November 24, 2001, two of the three members, Maria Serrano Serrano and Nathalie van het end of died in the crash of Crossair Flight 3597 at Bassersdorf ( Switzerland ). The machine crashed in a snowstorm during the landing approach to Zurich airport. The main reason for the cause of the accident, a fall below the minimum flight altitude despite not adequate vision was noted. Among the total of 24 victims was also the American- German pop singer Melanie Thornton.

Debby ( Deborah ) St. Marteen survived the accident with serious injuries and is now living in her home Zoetermeer near Rotterdam.

Original cast

In the original members of the band, which was founded in 1999, there was next three female band members still an MC, who took the rap part. The members were (each artist name and real name ):

After the successful launch of the first single The Rigga Ding Dong Song with the German - Cuban singer Leticia Pareja Padron (Top 9 in Germany ) it came after the departure of MC Steve in October 1999, tensions within the group, which led to a renewal ultimately.

Second and long -term occupation

• Nathaly (ie) van het end ( born January 2, 1975; † 24 November 2001) was born in the Netherlands. She was a backing vocalist, dancer and worked as a model. In 1995 she finished 3rd at the Miss Holland choice. Among other things, she worked on various video clips.
• Debby ( Deborah St. Marteen ) (born 1973 ) is also native of the Netherlands and was a dancer and model. She played in various video clips of Dutch and Belgian artists.
• Maria Serrano Serrano ( * November 26, 1973 in Duisburg, † 24 November 2001) was a Spanish citizen, but lived in Mülheim an der Ruhr. She was a trained nurse and also worked as a dancer.
