Pat Benatar

Pat Benatar, Patricia Mae Andrzejewski actually ( born January 10, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York ) is an American rock singer Polish- Irish descent.

Career

Pat Benatar was born in Brooklyn but grew up in Lindhurst on in upstate New York. Initially she studied as her mother was an opera. In 1971, she married Dennis T. Benatar. The marriage lasted only a few years.

In 1977, she was discovered at an amateur singing contest in a New York club. She signed a recording contract with Chrysalis Records, which was offered to her by the manager Terry Ellis. This they did in 1979 along with Neil Giraldo, who beside her as the leading member of the " Pat Benatar Band" was. In the fall of 1979 released their album In the Heat of the Night, which reached platinum status in the United States and until 1984, five more albums followed, where it was also demonstrated.

At the time, Pat Benatar rose before Cyndi Lauper and Madonna on a female superstar in the United States. The music video for the single You Better Run was the second music video, which was played on MTV.
