Pat Jackson

Pat Jackson ( born March 26, 1916 in Eltham, London as Patrick Douglas Selmes Jackson, † June 3, 2011 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire ) was a British film and television director.

Life and work

Pat Jackson appeared in 1936 with the short film Night Mail as associate producer with. In the 1930s he directed several documentaries. His first feature film was Western Approaches from the year 1944. Serum for 703 he was nominated in 1952 for the British Academy Film Award for Best British film. Later, Jackson withdrew and spent a short time in Hollywood. He also directed Shadow on the Wall ( 1950), based on the novel Death in the Doll 's House by Lawrence P. Bachmann and Hannah Leessuch. In 1952 he was nominated for the Encore Episode film at the International Film Festival in Cannes for the Golden Palm.

Later, he directed episodes of increased television series, including secret mission for John Drake, King Arthur, number six and five friends.

Jackson died on June 3, 2011 at the age of 95 years in Amersham.
