Patrick Abada

Patrick Abada ( born March 20, 1954 in Colombes ) is a retired French pole vaulter.

In 1973, he was sixth at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Rotterdam in 1974 and finished ninth at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

At the Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976, he came in fourth place, and at the 1978 European Championships in Prague, he was again ninth.

In 1979 he was second at the IAAF World Cup and won the bronze medal at the Universiade. Also got bronze for him at the European Indoor Championships 1980 in Sindelfingen and 1983 in Budapest.

A sixth place finish at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 followed shortly thereafter gold medal at the Mediterranean Games. At the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris in 1985 he finished fourth.

In 1979 he became a French indoor champion.
