Patrick Kühl

Patrick Kühl ( born March 26, 1968 in Güstrow ) is a former German world-class swimmer on the location routes.

Patrick cooling launched first for the forward ASK Potsdam, Potsdam later for the OSC and finally for the SC Magdeburg. He celebrated at the European Swimming Championships 1987 in Strasbourg, where he was third on 400 meters individual medley behind Tamás József Szabó Darnyi and his first international success. A year later cooling achieved at the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul, where he won the silver medal in the 200m individual medley behind Darnyi, his greatest success. On his parade route about 400 meters he was, however, only fifth. In August 1989, he set about 400 meters individual medley with 4:16,08 minutes a DDR record, the almost 20 years German record was later and was offered only in June 2009 by Yannick Lebherz. On the short course he presented in February 1990 with a European record of 4:12,02 minutes, which was two years later undercut by Jani Sievinen. Also at the European Swimming Championships in 1989 in Bonn, cooling was beaten only Darnyi over 400 meters individual medley again. In 1990, he won on his parade route his first German championship title, which he 1991, 1992 and 1993 defended. Already in 1987 he had won the title at the East German Championships for the first time. 1991 won cooling at the European Swimming Championships in 1991 in Athens behind Luca Sacchi over 400 meters individual medley with his last international silver medal. Last major international event was the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. On the 400 - meter individual medley - track cooling was sixth.

In 1988 he was awarded for winning the silver medal in Seoul with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
