Patrick O'Byrne

Patrick O'Byrne ( born 1955 in Dublin) is a pianist.

Life

O'Byrne was born in Dublin and grew up in New Zealand. B. Mus. at the University of Auckland. His education in piano Janetta McStay Kendall Taylor, Brigitte Wild and Vlado Perlemuter. In London, a fellow of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand and in Germany DAAD scholarship 1982-84. 1984 final soloist class with distinction at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg with Rosa Sabater and Tibor Hazay.

Awards at international competitions, José Iturbi, Tokyo, Jaén, Dudley etc. International recognition for his interpretations among others contemporary, French and Spanish music. Countless appearances in world centers, soloist with, among other things the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, RTE Symphony, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, New York Virtuosi under such conductors as Sir Charles Groves, Franz -Paul Decker, Kenneth Klein, Albert roses. 1985 professor at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart; since 2000 Vice-Rector. Since April 2002, Professor of Piano at the University of the Arts Bremen and also Liason Arts Bremen for the PE Sponsors, a non-profit association to promote musically gifted.
