Patty Fendick
Patty Fendick ( born March 31, 1965 in Sacramento, California ) is a former American tennis player.
Career
Grand Slam
The greatest success in Patty Fendick career she succeeded in 1991 together with her compatriot Mary Joe Fernandez at the Australian Open in women's doubles. They defeated in the final of the Grand Slam tournament Gigi Fernandez and Jana Novotna in straight sets 7-6 ( 4), 6-1. She stood in 1988 at the finals of the doubles competition at the U.S. Open, but had to deal with her doubles partner Jill Hetherington the duo Gigi Fernandez and Robin White smooth 4:6, defeated 1:6. In 1989, she also lost the final of the Australian Open against Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver 6:3, 3:6, 2:6.
WTA Tour
Fendick could win on the WTA Tour total of 3 single and 25 double competitions. In March 1989, she reached her highest ranking Rank 19 in the tennis world rankings. On July 3 of the same year she was number 4 of the double world rankings. Overall, they played three times for the U.S. Fed Cup team ( 2 wins, 1 loss ).
Others
The American finished in 1995 it had begun in 1987 pro career. After her retirement, she married Scott McCain, with whom she has two daughters and a son. Between 1997 and 2005, she coached the tennis team at the University of Washington and was head coach of the Texas team.
