Paul Denis (Haiti politician)

Paul Denis is a Haitian politician and Minister of Justice and Public Security in the government of René Préval.

Denis was an opposition politician and senator during the presidency of Jean -Bertrand Aristide. One day after the parliamentary elections of 21 May 2000, he was arrested and charged for possession of illegal weapons, but later released.

When Aristide went into exile, Denis was used together with the cabinet minister Leslie Voltaire and the Haitian UN representatives Adama Guindo as tripartite, to prepare for the transitional government. In the presidential elections in 2006, he ran for the Òganizasyon PEP Cape Lite (OPL ) and reached 2.62% of the vote.

Later Denis justice minister in the government of René Préval. Denis has been spilled during the earthquake on 12 January 2010 and was rescued surprising from a hole in the ground until January 21. Previously, he had already been declared dead.
