Paul Greengrass

Paul Greengrass ( born August 13, 1955 in Cheam, Surrey, England ) is a British film director, screenwriter and novelist.

Among his best known works include the films Bloody Sunday, the second and third part of the Bourne series, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93 (via the United Airlines flight number 93 on September 11 ) and Captain Phillips.

Career

Greengrass studied English at the University of Cambridge. In 1978, he began his career as a journalist and director of the BBC program " World in Action ". Among his former works include documentaries about the Irish band U2 and IRA prisoners he interviewed during a hunger strike. In 1989 he directed his first feature film Resurrected. The film received at the 1989 Berlinale International Film Prize and the Prize of the OCIC jury.
