Paul McStay

Paul Michael Lyons McStay MBE ( born October 22, 1964 in Hamilton ) is a former Scottish footballer.

Paul McStay began his professional career at FC Aberdeen. In 1981 he moved to Celtic where he played until the year 1997. With Celtic McStay 1982, 1986 and 1988 Scottish champion. He won the Scottish Cup in 1985, 1988 and 1989 also three times. In a total of 672 games for Celtic McStay scored 72 goals.

At international level, his career was not as successful. He was in 1982, however, celebrate with the Scottish Youth National Team, which became European champions their first success. McStay took with Scotland in 1986 and 1990 at the World Cup final tournament. When he came to the tournament in Mexico not for use as good as even he was four years later in Italy all games contest. With two world championships for him was already in the preliminary round. At the European Championships in Sweden in 1992 he also came in all games used, but again was for the Scots in the first round last stop. McStay played 72 international matches and scored nine goals.
