Paul Meijer

Paul Meijer ( born March 27, 1985 in Utrecht) is a Dutch racing driver.

Career

Meijer began his motorsport career in 1994 in karting, where he was active until 2000. After he became fifth in the 2001 Toyota Yaris Cup Netherlands, in 2002 he moved to Formula racing and started in the Benelux Formula Ford, in which he finished in seventh place overall. 2003, the racing driver won the championship title of the Dutch Formula Renault. He also appeared in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and finished to a win fourth overall. In addition, he took part in two races of the World Series Light. 2004 was the Dutch in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and finished sixth in the drivers' standings. In addition, he once again competed in the Dutch Formula Renault and finished the season in fourth place.

2005 Meijer went to only two races in the German Formula 3 Cup and finished 15th in the driver standings. In 2006 he took part in any racing series. In 2007 he returned to motorsport, and went with six races of the North European Formula Renault at the start. He stood in all races on the podium and scored two wins, with which he came in seventh place overall. In 2008, he first went to six races back in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and finished with a victory eleventh in the championship. After Nelson Philippe, the regular pilot assisted by Zakspeed team of Borussia Dortmund in the Superleague Formula, had not appeared for the third race weekend of the 2008 season in Zolder, Meijer took over the short term the race car. He took his chance and immediately secured the pole position and finished third in the first race. He was then obliged by Azerti Motorsport for the car of Al Ain Club for the remainder of the season. In his first race weekend at Estoril he managed a victory in the second round. Other races did not happen, because he at Vallelunga a violation of the wrist drew upon in training and thus failed the rest of the season.

In 2009, he stepped up to a race weekend of the International Formula Master and finished the race in second place. In the overall standings, he was twelfth. He also took part in two races in the Dutch GT4 Championship. In 2010 he moved to the GT4 European Cup and led the championship one race weekend before closing with four victories. In addition, he returned for a non- scoring race to the championship back in the Superleague Formula. He started for assisted Alpha Motorsport team of Atlético Madrid and a fifth place was his best result.
