Paul Olaf Bodding

Paul Olaf Bodding ( born November 2, 1865 in Gjøvik, Norway, † September 25, 1938 in Odense, Denmark) was a Norwegian missionary and linguist.

Bodding, son of a bookseller, studied theology in Oslo and was under the influence of Lars Olsen Skrefsrud missionary. Since 1889 he worked in India 44 years in the service of Santalmission, where he became manager in 1910 as a successor Skrefsruds. Bodding translated the Bible into the Santalisprache (1914 completed ) and devoted the last 20 years of his stay in India almost exclusively literary and linguistic work.
