Paul Oliver

Paul Oliver ( born May 25, 1927 in Nottingham ) is a at the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development acting English explorer who is known both as an architectural theorist and as a musicologist.

As for his work in the field of architecture, it is mainly emerged with his argument that in the future the Vernacular architecture ( in German with " regional architecture" inadequately translated) should play a greater role in economic, both for cultural as well as from reasons to ensure the sustainability of construction. He has 1997, the three-volume, 2500 pages comprising Encyclopedia of Vernacular Architecture of the World released, includes contributions from researchers from 80 countries. He is currently working on a World Atlas of Vernacular Architecture.

Are very influential beyond his research on the blues, especially his publications on American traditional music, which aroused worldwide interest in this style of music and maintained over decades (comparable in its effect, it was nevertheless are next to it probably only the works of Samuel Charters ).
