Paul Verhoeven (Germany)

Paul Joseph "Paul" Verhoeven ( born June 23, 1901 in Unna, † March 22, 1975 in Munich) was a German actor, director, theater director and author.

Life

Verhoeven grew up in modest circumstances, and had thirteen siblings. He is the father of film director Michael Verhoeven and actress Lis Verhoeven, the father of actor Mario Adorf and Senta Berger and grandfather of actor Maria Stella Adorf, Luca Verhoeven and Simon Verhoeven.

Was married to actress Doris Kiesow Verhoeven, with whom he had children Lis, Michael and Monika. From the relationship with the actress Edith Schultze- Westrum son of Thomas Schultze- Westrum, the zoologist and wildlife filmmaker comes is.

In 1935, he wrote - with Toni Impekoven - the libretto for the musical comedy The little court concert by Edmund Nick.

From 1945 to 1948 he was the manager at the Bavarian State Theatre.

Paul Verhoeven died during the memorial service for the recently deceased actress Therese Giehse of heart failure. He sat at a table on the stage of the Munich Chamber games and had just spoken the first sentences of her obituary when he suddenly collapsed dead.
