Paulo Chávez

Paulo César Chávez ( born January 7, 1976 in Guadalajara, Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Tilon, is a Mexican football player who has been most commonly used in the ( offensive ) midfield.

Life

Association

" El Tilon " Chávez began his professional career in the 1993/94 season with his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara, for whom he played until the 1999/00 season and with whom he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997. Between 2000 and 2004 he played for the Rayados de Monterrey, with whom he won his second league title in the Torneo Clausura 2003.

After another Erstligasaison 2004/ 05 in the service of Deportivo Toluca Chávez played henceforth frequently in the second division and was recently at Club Necaxa under contract by which he won both championships in the second division season 2009/10 and the rise qualify for the House of Lords, in the 2010/11 season but immediately relegated again.

National

Between 1997 and 2000 denied " Tilon " Chávez total of 29 international appearances for the Mexican national team. His first international game, he completed on 13 June 1997 as part of the Copa América 1997, when Mexico beat the Colombians 2-1. His last international match took place on 11 June 2000, instead against the United States and was lost with 0:3.

His two international goals scored Chavez on November 9, 1997 against Costa Rica ( 3-3 ) and on 9 June 1999 against Argentina (2-2 ).
