Paulus Hochgatterer

Paul Hochgatterer (* July 16, 1961 in Amstetten, Lower Austria ) is an Austrian psychiatrist and writer.

Life

Hochgatterer grew up in Amstetten and reactive market. After 1979 his matriculation examination filed, he studied medicine and psychology at the University of Vienna. In 1985 he received his PhD in Doctor of Medicine.

From 1992 he had as a specialist in psychiatry and neurology of children and adolescents held a position as senior physician at the Neurological Hospital Rose Hill in Vienna. Later he headed the Department of Education Help in Vienna Floridsdorf.

Since 2007 Hochgatterer stands in front of the newly established Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the State Hospital Tulln as a primary school.

Hochgatterer is the author of narrative works that are based on the professional experience of the author as a psychiatrist and their protagonists are often mentally ill and outsiders.

Hochgatterer is a member of the Austrian IG authors authors.

He lives with his family in Vienna.
