Pavel Durov

Pavel Durov Valeryevich (Russian Павел Валерьевич Дуров; born October 10, 1984 in Leningrad ) is a Russian entrepreneur.

Durov spent much of his youth in Turin, where his father Valeri (Ph. D. in Philology ) was employed. He then studied at the State University of Saint Petersburg. Together with his brother Nikolay, he founded in 2006 Vkontakte, today vk.com.

The Russian secret service asked Durov to close anti-government groups in the UK, as well as to remove profiles of opposition - without success. In April 2013 Durov went into hiding. Against him is under investigation for " violence against a representative of state power", according to prosecutors in a process. 2013 he sent an invitation to Edward Snowden, to work for him.

In the summer of 2013, he founded the Telegram Messenger, with which he wants to make WhatsApp competition.

Pavel Durov his time between Saint Petersburg and Turin. He is committed to the Anarcho Capitalism, Daoism and is a vegetarian.
