Paweł Brożek

Paweł Brożek [ pavɛw brɔʒɛk ] (* April 21, 1983 in Kielce, Poland) is a Polish professional footballer.

Club career

The 1,80 m tall and 72 kg striker began his career at the provincial club Polonia Białogon Kielce. After a short stint with SMS Zabrze he joined in 1998 as a fifteen year old to Wisła Kraków. In 2000 he played his first league game and was in on it with Poland U18 European Champion. In the following years, he first was able to secure a regular place and was loaned in 2001 to the Łódzki KS and GKS Katowice 2003. Its nationwide breakthrough came only in the 2005/06 season, as he completed 30 league games and scored 13 goals. Since then, Paweł Brożek is one of the most prolific and best players in Poland. In January 2011 Paweł Brożek was engaged with his brother Piotr by the Turkish giants Trabzonspor. In the Polish Ekstraklasa, he played 198 matches and scored 86 goals in these. For Trabzonspor played Brożek 19 times in the Turkish Süper Lig, scoring 3 goals. For the second half of the 2011/2012 season he was loaned out to Scottish giants Celtic top. Here, however, he could not sit down and came up with only three league games. On August 31, 2012 Paweł Brożek signed a contract with Spanish second division Recreativo Huelva. His contract was not renewed after the season. For the 2013/2014 season he moved back to his former club Wisła Kraków, where he signed a one -year contract. Shortly after, his twin brother Piotr joined Wisła Kraków.

National

Paweł Brożek went through without exception all Polish national youth teams. In the Polish national team, he made ​​his debut on 27 April 2005 against Mexico. Since then, he played 36 international matches, scoring 8 goals. The former national team coach Paweł Janas nominated him in May 2006 for the squad for the Soccer World Cup 2006 in Germany, where it was used in all three group games. In 2012 he took part in the European Football Championship in Poland and Ukraine, where he came to two brief appearances in the first round.

Currently, he is the Polish first division Lechia Gdańsk under contract and debuted already in the national team. Since 2008 Paweł Brożek is married to Joanna Bojarska. And since 2010, he has one daughter.
