Paweł Edelman

Paweł Edelman ( born June 26, 1958 in Łódź) is a Polish cinematographer.

Edelman studied in his hometown first film, and then moved on to film school in Łódź, where he was trained as a cameraman. In 1988 he completed his studies. His feature film debut was in 1991. After some successful work in Poland, he experienced his international breakthrough with the film The Pianist, for which he has received numerous awards, including the César, the European Film Award, the BAFTA Award and his first Oscar nomination.

1991 and 1997, Edelman was honored for his work on Kroll or Pan Tadeusz with the award for best cinematographer at the Polish Film Festival Gdynia. For Pan Tadeusz, The Pianist Andrzej Wajda's Oscar - nominated and war drama The Katyn massacre, he won the Polish Film Award.
