Paweł Nastula

Paweł Nastula ( born June 26, 1970 in Warsaw) is a Polish judoka.

Nastula began Judo training at the age of ten years in Warsaw. His best years were between the 1994 and 1998. During these years he was never defeated in the class to 95 kg in over 200 fights. During this time he was three times European champion, twice world champion and the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta Olympic champion. It was only when he joined the class and took in the weight category up to 100 kg, its success time was over.

1995 and 1997 he was a Polish athlete of the year. In 2000 he published his book My judo.

From mid-2005 Paweł Nastula participated in the mixed- martial-arts event Pride FC. He fought, inter alia, against Antonio Nogueira, Aleksander Emelianenko and Edson Drago. In 2006 he was found guilty of doping after a fight against Josh Barnett. The test resulted in increased values ​​for the four substances nandrolone, phenylpropanolamine, pseudoephedrine and ephedrine.

In Poland, he is still the most popular judoka. In 2009 he took part in the Polish version of Let's Dance.
