Payot
Sidelocks (Hebrew: Peot, lit corners in Ashkenazi pronunciation: Pejes, pajes or Pajess, also Beikeles or Bejkeles ) are according to the Halacha to be borne by Jewish men. Strictly Orthodox men stick to it. Wearing sidelocks and beard goes back to a commandment of the Torah:
"Do not cut all around your head hair. "
