PDM (cycling team)

PDM Concorde from 1986 to 1992, a Dutch cycling team in professional road cycling.

Organization and profile

Main sponsor of the team was Philips Dupont Magnetics, a joint venture of the electronics company Philips with the chemical company DuPont. Wheel Statter was the Dutch brand Concorde from the Italian manufacturer Ciocc.

Team Manager was initially Roy Schuiten. He was assisted by January Gisbers as sports director, who took over the position of Manager in 1987. Other sports director were Piet van der Kruijs and Ferdi van den Haute.

The team was especially successful in the classics and won particular Liège -Bastogne -Liège in 1988 and 1989 and the Giro di Lombardia in 1991.

Among the outstanding results but included the second places the driver Pedro Delgado in the Tour de France in 1987 and Steven Rooks on the issue of 1988, and the third place by Erik Breukink 1990. Moreover, the team won the team of the Tour de France 1988 and 1989.

Doping and Medical
