Reception

About the Manga writes Kuno Liesegang at Splash Comics of a coherent historical background, but the entry for those is difficult, have not read the Peacemaker. The Shinsengumi are shown at the beginning rather than fun troupe, later the act is serious. In some cases, however, the plot is illogical and complicated, partly occurring fantasy elements did not fit into the rest of the story. Later going to the manga text -heavy and it would be much mediated through Japanese history, but act the comic relief in between disturbing. The drawings are detailed and suitable, especially the character design and the background is appealing. However, too often Screentone would be used and the hairstyles of the two main characters too reminiscent of Yu -Gi- Oh. In the further course of action, the mood could not be transported, the characters seemed stiff and unfinished.

The trade magazine manga scene writes about the anime that occurring historical figures would have little resemblance to their models. The Shinsengumi were in the series mostly at friendly clowns ... breakless deal with an immature child ruckus. The story sink in most trivial jokes and raised serious issues had only flat and annoying. The characters and situations are worn and older series of the genre such as Rurouni Kenshin would have much more fun.
