Pearl River Tower

The Pearl River Tower is a skyscraper that is in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. Work on the by the famous firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed the tower began in 2007 and were completed in late 2011. In early 2010, the maximum height of the tower of 309.6 meters has been achieved. The Pearl River Tower has 71 floors, which will be used almost entirely for offices.

The building is considered groundbreaking for Green Building and integrates innovative solutions for air conditioning, solar and wind energy and could set the standard in high-rise construction. Since its completion, it was one of the most energy efficient skyscrapers worldwide.

The vertical wind turbines of this building that use the Venturi effect, not vibrate, do not generate annoying noise and are safe for birds.
