Pectineus muscle

The pectineus muscle (Latin for " comb muscle " ) is a muscle on the inside of the thigh. He limited in animals the leg triangle ( femoral triangle ) from behind. The pectineus muscle is associated with the ungulates with the adductor longus and part of the upper shell. Occasionally, the fusion with the adductor longus is also to be found in the dog.

The muscle flexes the hip joint, thigh pulls the center of the body ( adduction) and helps to rotate it outward. He is Innervated from the femoral nerve and the anterior branch ( ramus anterior) of the obturator nerve, which originate in the spinal cord segments L2 -3 ( L4).
