Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint

Peder Vilhelm Jensen - Klint ( born June 21, 1853 in Skaelskoer; † December 1, 1930 in Copenhagen) was a Danish painter and architect. He is known particularly for the Grundtvig in Copenhagen.

Life

Klint graduated in painting at the Royal Danish Art Academy, and presented for the first time in 1883 some of his landscape paintings. While he initially worked as an engineer, he founded his own architectural practice in 1896. He was 1902-1905 President of the Society of Decorative Arts.

1919, the construction of the Grundtvig was started, whose tender Klint had won in 1913. It is decorated in brick construction with neo-Gothic interior. The construction was completed in 1940 by his son Kaare Klint.
