Pedro Cortina y Mauri

Pedro Cortina Mauri (* 1908 in La Pobla de Segur, † February 14, 1993 in Madrid) was a Spanish politician and Foreign Minister of Spain.

After a diplomatic training was Cortina Mauri 1966-1974 first Spanish ambassador to France. Under the Prime Minister Carlos Arias Navarro Cortina Mauri was in the period of the dictatorship of General Franco on January 3, 1974 Foreign Minister of Spain. He held until December 12, 1975 this office. During his tenure, he was confronted with the Western Sahara conflict and the negotiations related to the Green March in Morocco in the Western Sahara.
