Pedro Regueiro

Pedro Pagola Regueiro ( born October 10, 1906 in Irun; † 6 December 1995) was a Spanish football player of Basque origin, who acted mostly in the midfield. He is the older brother of footballer Luis Tomás Regueiro.

Biography

Pedro Regueiro began his football career in the service of his home club Real Unión Irun and changed over Real Betis Real Madrid later.

Due to the Spanish Civil War erupted in 1936 the matches of the Spanish League was suspended for three years and therefore the native Basque and Spanish five-time national player of Basque football team joined that went on a world tour for two years 1937-1939. In the season 1938/39, this team played under the name of Euskadi in the Mexican League, where she was runner-up behind the CF Asturias. With the beginning of the season 1939/40, Pedro Luis Regueiro played with his brother in the Asturianos, scored first but far less positive results and came into the season 1941/42, for the UD Moctezuma on. However, in the 1943/44 season he was with Asturias, and together with his other brother Tomás, the first champion of the Mexican professional league. Immediately after this triumph ended Pedro Regueiro his active career.
