Pee Dee Pride

The Pee Dee Pride ( during the season 2003-2004 Florence Pride ) was an American ice hockey franchise from Florence, South Carolina. The venue of the Pee Dee Pride was the Florence Civic Center.

History

The franchise was founded in 1997 and took his game mode in the ECHL. Head coach Jack Capuano was who played during his career in the NHL. The Pee Dee Pride reached in its premiere season 76 points, which they finished third in the Southeast Division and qualified for the play-offs. In the first round they were subject to the South Carolina Stingrays in just five games. In the following season, the Pee Dee Pride won 106 points and reached the playoffs sovereign. The team failed only in the Conference Finals, where they were subject to the Mississippi Sea Wolves in five games. Nevertheless, this represented the greatest success of the franchise dar. In the last four seasons, the Pee Dee Pride reached constant the playoffs, more than the third round reached the team but no longer. For the season 2003/ 04, the franchise was renamed the Florence Pride, for the following season the team was renamed back to Pee Dee Pride. In 2005, the franchise was dissolved.
