Pehr Hörberg ( born January 31, 1746 Virestad, Småland, † January 24, 1816 in Risinge, Östergötland) was a Swedish painter, engraver and composer.

Pehr Hörberg was only Hirt, then farmer, but formed next on his own as a painter. Only 37, he obtained the funds, in Stockholm to attend the academy, here gained but quickly twice the price and the reputation of the best Swedish painter.

In 1790 he moved to Ölstorp in Ostergötland, 1797 Member of the Academy of Fine Arts and later court painter to the then Crown Prince Charles John.

The painted altarpieces by him amounted to 87, which he principally on behalf of various parishes, particularly in Småland and Östergötland, created. The number of his other, sacred and profane objects representing painting is over 600 are a lot of engravings after drawings etc. he left behind, including admirable drawings after antiquities.

Among his most successful frescoes include the Titan battles in Finspång Castle. Hörberg was of great ingenuity; the sublime and holy succeeded better than the Lovely and Beautiful.

He had also great plant for mechanics, one has from it a new kind of violins with positives. His musical compositions are original and breathe deep feeling.
