Dissemination

The species is endemic in parts of the Peloponnese; in eutrophic, shallow endorheic Limni Stymfalia. Pseudophoxinus stymphalicus lives in wetlands, standing or flowing water weak.

Description and Other

It is a short-lived freshwater fish, which reaches up to 12 cm body length. The fish is very resistant and well adapted to unstable living conditions.

Endangering

Ps stymphalicus is threatened by habitat destruction, water abstraction and pollution. He is in Appendix II of the EU Habitats Directive (1992) and in Appendix III of the Bern Convention (1982, Greece: October 1, 1983) listed.

On the global Red List, he has the status of "Least Concern" ( LC), " least concern".
