The Office Pellworm is an office in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein. The term of office transactions are carried out under an administrative community of the city of Husum.

Official members of communities

The Office Pellworm consists of the four municipalities Gröde (11 inhabitants), holm Hooge (109 inhabitants), Langeneß (134 inhabitants) and Pellworm ( 1177 inhabitants). (Residents on )

Geography

The area of the Office includes the island Pellworm and the holms Gröde, Habel, Hooge, Langeneß, Norderoog, Oland, Süderoog and Südfall. It is thus characterized by the Wadden Sea and partly belongs to the National Park Schleswig -Holstein Wadden Sea.

History

1889, the District Pellworm from the four above- mentioned municipalities and communities Nordmarsch and Oland was formed in a circle Husum. Nordmarsch and Oland were incorporated in 1941, after Langeneß.

In 1948, the District was dissolved and the four municipalities onward formed the Office Pellworm that came with the whole circle Husum 1970 North Friesland. Since 2008, the administrative community with the town of Husum.

Chief Administrator

For the election period 2013-2018 was Matthias Piepgras (SPD ), the holm Hooge mayor, was elected Chief Administrator. He succeeds Klaus Jensen ( CDU), who held the office eight years.

Traffic

Pellworm and most holms are only accessible by boat. Regular ferry operates the New Pellwormer Steamship GmbH ( NPDG ) between North beach and Pellworm and Wyk Steamship Company (WDR) between Schlüttsiel Langeneß, Hooge and Wittdün on Amrum. Langeneß and Oland are also connected to the mainland by a causeway, on the upside a moor train. This track is next to the coast guard and the transport needs of Halligbewohner.
