Pelsin is a district of the city of Anklam in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern.

Geography and transport

Pelsin is located on the main road 197 The city of Anklam is about two kilometers north of the town. The Federal Highway 20 is accessible via the Anklam connection ( about 25 km).

History

The place is of Slavic origin. Pelsin was first mentioned in 1254 as " Pallezsin " documentary. The Slavic name means " slow stream ".

Until December 31, 2009 Pelsin was an independent municipality with the associated district Stretense within the Office Anklam country ( until January 1, 2005 the Office Spantekow belonging ). Last mayor Pelsins was Steffen Brasch. January 1, 2010 Pelsin was incorporated into the City of Anklam.
