Oval Phalarope ( Peltodytes caesus )

Peltodytes, Syn Cnemidotus is a genus of beetles in the family of the phalarope ( Haliplidae ). It occurs in Europe with two types.

Features

The beetles see which of the genus Haliplus very similar differ from this, however, by their very curved, humped body shape, the very rough point-like structure of their surface, a fine unpunctured stripes on the posterior half of the elytra near the elytra seam and longer end links of the tarsi.

Occurrence and life

The animals live similar to those of the genus Haliplus on water plants in standing or slow-flowing waters.
