Pen Hadow

Pen Hadow ( born February 26, 1962) is a British polar explorer and author.

From 17 March to 19 May 2003, he managed the first alone and unaided 775 miles from the northern coast of Canada to the North Pole.

Catlin Arctic Survey

In collaboration with the University of Cambridge in 2009 Hadow gathered with his expedition companions Ann Daniels and Martin Hartley data on the rapid melting of the North Pole. To this end, they measured the thickness of the ice sheet and the layer of snow. In this research data based concluded Professor Peter Wadhams, that the North Pole could be ice-free by 2029. Time magazine has named the team to Heroes of the Environment.
